Josephine Woods is a fiber artist and painter.  In 1971, she developed an interest in weaving, spinning,
dyeing and collecting antique spinning wheels.  This progressed into sharing a small herd of Navajo Churro
sheep with a friend in Seattle.

After moving to Florida and becoming part owner of a large gallery, she began painting in watercolors and
acrylics.  Her paintings  show her love of fibers, as the brilliant colors and her unusual style evoke the feeling
of the textures of oriental silks and brocades.

Josephine’s watercolors were exhibited at the Grand Opening of the National Museum for Women in the Arts
in Washington, D.C.  Her acrylics and handmade, dyed papers, incorporating exotic natural fibers, are in
private and corporate collections all over the United States.
