Having recently completed a circumnavigation of the globe in his restored 1946 Sparkman & Stephens
yawl, COMET, Howard Park currently resides in Stonington, Connecticut.  His love of the sea and
maritime culture is evident in his oil paintings and watercolors inspired by the journey.

Howard attended the Masters of Fine Arts program at Tufts University and studied at the School of The
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.  He continued his studies in France at L’Ecole d’Art Decoratif de Nice,
where he won a National prize in photography.  After a stint in the Merchant Marine, Howard returned to
Boston to work as a photographer and art director, but the lure of the sea eventually led him to Noank,
CT, to manage a boatyard and raise his family. Ultimately, he realized his dream to sail the world and
paint.

Howard has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, and his circumnavigation presentation
was sold-out at the Adventurer Lecture Series at Mystic Seaport in the winter of 2001-2002.  His talks
have also been popular at yacht clubs, civic organizations and schools.   Howard’s works hang in public
and private collections throughout the world, including the Maritime Museum in Auckland, New Zealand.

Howard is the owner of the Four Starr Frame Shoppe and Gallery in the old Velvet Mill on BayView Ave,
Stonington, CT.
