When I was a small child living in Michigan, my grandmother, who lived in Phoenix, Arizona, would send
me copies of Arizona Highways magazines. I would sit for hours while looking at the pictures of beautiful
sunsets, glorious mountains and desert scenes, and I would dream of what it would be like to live out
West. My memories are very vivid of our annual visits as she would take us to the Pueblos to buy
pottery, rugs and jewelry and do our own mining for Apache Tears. Years later, these inspiring
memories have not faded, and now I am a regular visitor to Santa Fe. The jewelry that I am inspired to
create, consists of natural stones, glass, silver and copper, which keeps the West close to my heart.
