Ann Schuknecht is a resident of Santa Fe, living in Eldorado.  She has a long and lengthy background in
decorative tole painting, quilting, and sewing.  Ann started her passion in stained glass in 2001 having
always admired the colorful inspirational windows in churches and private homes.  To solve a decorating
problem in her own home, Ann took a class in stained glass and was instantly hooked.  A love of colors,
texture, and watching a piece go from scattered tiny pieces to a beautiful masterpiece is both exciting
and fulfilling.  The plain and simple, as well as the intricate and involved, are both just as satisfying.
Gardening and wildlife are also major interests and so a lot of her work depicts  flowers and nature.  A
self-taught artist, Ann is always looking for new and unusual ways to show her love of stained glass work.
Gathering a stone here or adding colorful beads there with hints of open work are challenging and add
depth and interest to her work.

Doing stained glass work is very time consuming and can be tedious.  There are many steps to
completing a project and each step builds upon the other.  Ann spends most of her days working in her
studio and doing what she loves to do.  She is married to her best friend, Rick, and they share their
home with three wonderful Golden Retrievers.  They have four children and six grandchildren.

Ann is a member of the Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association and participates in their annual Fall Show
as well as the Studio Tour in the spring.  Her studio name is Daisy Dreams Stained Glass and she can be
reached at aschuk@comcast.net or through Two Pears Gallery.
